Someone could provide references in order to correlate N(SPT) to N from dinamic probing? (e.g. SHDP)

CHIMOC,
Go ahead and get all the information you can regarding correlations of portable dynamic tests, but remember that there are many types of dynamic probes available and each of them has a different configuration and energy "output" (i.e. correlations of the portable probes with other common field tests will vary widely.)

This is one instance you should definitely develop your own correlations for the specific portable penetrometer you’re using and the projects and soils you’re dealing with. If you do that and use good judgement regarding the projects and soil types you use it on, a portable penetrometer will be a useful piece of equipment for you. There have been several posts related to your question. Please review them at:

thread261-59796
thread274-48778
thread256-41671

I'm not sure how to link you directly to those sites, but I think you'll probably need to copy and paste the thread ID #'s shown above one at a time in the EngTips search engine at the top of the page and it should bring you to the right place. I'll get that figured out sometime soon, I hope.

Don't worry about copying and pasting the thread ID #'s -just click on them. It worked!!

Thank you very much for your kind help, I have found of interest the related posts you suggested. I agree with the recognition of missuse of the Dynamic Cone Penetration tests. I can tell you that I have seen a project where a proposal of soil improvement 6 m. depth has been justified by feww DCP through correlations and correlations (mv, cv, ch,.).. It is certainly a "Public Danger".
What I wanted to suggest is a method which could be able to obtain properties from DCP based in a "well posed" methodology: e.g: energetic balance, mechanical equilibrium, etc. We all know the developement of this approach in other in situ tests as Marchetti's, CPT, Screw plate, etc. ¿ Is it possible to get a uniform methodology which could be applied to every particular soil conditions?.
In my opinion the missuse of DCP has been encouraged by the conservative "design rules" that we can find in well known texts that can be used by not qualified people who are looking for a formula, a graph, or something able to provide "numbers" to justify a rough and conservative design.

CHIMOC,
Good morning. Maybe I'm just tired, but I'm not quite sure what you're saying. I'm glad the other posts provided some helpful information for you.
