The original equation for Fox's influence factor (used for settlement and subgrade modulus computations) is tedious and not easily implemented in a spreadsheet or computer program. I've found this paper that presents a fairly good alternative equation developed using multivariable, non-linear regression on the curves obtained with Fox's equation. Much easier equation to code and gives results very close to those obtained with the original equation.
