How about the NEMA Pocket Engineering Handbook. Most electrical supply houses give them away, with their name on it, of course!

Good site Clyde38, it shows the whole story of NEMA frame asignments. I give you a star.
I do not know if a similar exists for IEC.

DickDV,
I'm not sure if this is the same as you are referring to, but EASA's (Electrical Apparatus Service Association) Electrical Engineering Pocket Handbook has both NEMA and IEC tables. You can get them free or you can by them from EASA.

Yes, that's the Pocket version and has the hp/frame charts determined by NEMA. Note that our current frame assignments are dated back to 1964.

We are long since due for another rerate but there is such a huge installed base that noone wants it. The technology has advanced to such an extent that, for example, Reliance, in their RPM-AC motor line which uses the best of everything and does not comform to NEMA, has 100hp in a 256T frame! and 1000hp in a 449T frame.

Anyway, yes, the handbooks you mention are the correct ones.
