Have you tried using 'Delay Model Update' and then trigger the updates manually when you really want them? This won't make an update go any faster, but it will be more efficient as you could avoid several intermediate updates and only do one after making several feature changes.

You could suppress all of the features that you're not interested in but this will also remove their edges and faces from the model so any new features which would possibly interact with those parts of the model may prove to be problematic when you finally unsuppress those older features to get your complete model once more.

Of course you could also try working in 'History Free' mode but then you'll find that very few of what you think of features will still exist in your model, BUT it will behave more like what you're looking for.

there isn't at the moment what you are asking, but John can make you happy in the early future...;-)

Thank you...

Yes, I had also thought of suggesting using the new 'Part Modules' functionality but that has the feel of 'killing flies with a sledge hammer' for something like this.
