Hi
We have a device to measure online unburnt carbon in fly ash. There is a silicon pipe which gets damaged frequently. Does someone has this device and this issue? The temperature of the fly ash is around 200 deg C. So this silicon pipe must work at this temperature and also be quite elastic. There is a pinch in the device which presses against the silicon pipe to hold the sample of fly ash. After measurement is done, compressed air is applied on the sample fly ash to return it to the process line. So around 8 bar pressure is applied inside the silicon pipe.
Thanks to give us a supplier which can supply this type of silicon pipe. Please see attached picture of device. Up to now material supplied from the supplier has not been able to solve the problem. Thanks

Your application is very similar to a peristaltic pump so look for tubing for that application.

How exactly is your failure occuring? Is the tube being damaged by the pinch mechanism? Is it rupturing due to excess pressure? 8 bar is extremely high for unreinforced rubber tubing of any type.

What properties does this tubing need to have? Does it need to be transparent for example?

What about scheduling a replacement of the tubing? It looks simple to replace, how often is it failing?

Silicone NOT Silicon. You should correct this.

Hi

Is it possible to suggest other suppliers from Europe, S.Africa or elsewhere?
McMaster-Carr cannot supply us. Please see comments below

"Thank you for considering McMaster-Carr for your purchase. However, we will not accept orders from your facility due to the cost of complying with US export regulations"
