ACI 306R (Cold weather concreting) reports a formula which gives an estimate of the fresh concrete temperature upon condition the weights and temperatures of all constituents of the mix are known.
The formula, which basically is a thermal energy balance of the components before and after mixing, is corrected in event the temperature of one or more of the aggregates drops below 0 °C (32 °F).
Has anyone practical experience on field that could confirm the reliability of the formula presented by ACI 306R?
