I am interesting in finding published articles or other resources that pertain to use of FEA tools in the study of assemblies subject to micromotion and fretting.

My internet search has led to a few resources, primarily in aircraft applications, but I hope to find more, and with material systems other than aircraft aluminum.

My ultimate goal is not necessarily fatigue life prediction in an absolute sense, but rather the comparison of various assembly designs to determine which is likely to have a longer life.

Your comments about this general goal are welcome.

TIA

We do this to predict squeaks in instrument panels for cars. So far as I am aware it is a proprietary technique but there may be some papers around on it.
