All,

I am currently working on the subsea pipeline crossing design. We have 18-inch pipeline crossing over the 6-inch pipeline. Can anyone please provide friction coeffiecient at the interface between polypropylene coated pipeline and concrete mattress used as the support. The pipeline is coated with 5 Layer Polypropylene with Solid PP as the outermost layer and it is resting on concrete mattress support at the crossing. Any supporting documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Pratyush

You DO NOT want to have any chance for contact between poly coatings and any concrete, rocks, or any other hard or sharp surface... ANYWHERE! Positive separation between pipeline and these kinds of materials must be absolutely guaranteed.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it's not safe ... make it that way.
