Friction in Slider?

Hi, would like to ask in actual case, would there be any friction in sliding direction? I assume no or very insignificant as it is allowed to slide...

Hold the slider in vertical position, if no friction, or the friction is negligibly small, the parts will fall apart freely.

Practically some sliding friction will be there. Whether to neglect it will depend on surface conditions, normal loads and application.

It depends on several things such as how much preload is in the assembly, the seals, and the lubrication you choose. The manufacturer will be able to provide friction values, below is a screen shot of the manual from some Chieftek linear guides on their section about seal friction:

I've used these. Singly, there is so little friction that you can't count on anything staying in place unless otherwise constrained.

When used in pairs, misalignment can introduce additional friction.
