Dear All,

Now I am studying biomekanical modelling od knee join. I have a problem in creating my model for the simulation. I have tried to google and I found so many models of knee joint, buat some of them are in stl file. I need to convert the stl model to solid and then I can modify its shape to meet my need. And I still do not know how to know the dimension of the model in the stl file. I hope some can help me, please.

The workflow will be highly dependent on your CAD program. In some systems you may need to use the imported STL as reference geometry to create some from scratch. In others NURBS surface skins can be developed based on the nodes of the STL. Regardless expect to invest a significant amount of time to obtain the appropriate level of accuracy and removing imaging anomalies. I hope this helps.

What CAD software are you using?

There are STL to solid converters for most CAD programs.
