Has anyone experienced problems with frozen parts while using the die or mold wizard?

Thats awfully vague, what kinds of problems? I use it occasionally, but prefer to keep components closed instead for a greater memory/speed advantage.

NX 5.0.3.2 MoldWizard

We are using NX 5.0.5.3 Die Wizard. The problem is that the die wizard is freezing parts and when the are frozen they will not update. If you look in the view manager (I'm assuming that the mold wizard has one also) there is a column in which you can freeze parts. We are not intentionally freezing the parts. The die wizard is freezing the “nest” and “blank” parts when you work through the creation steps of the die wizard. We are not sure if it is something that we are doing wrong or a bug in the software. We did not encounter this problem until we installed NX5.

As I understand it you cannot manually freeze or unfreeze parts unless you have a WAVE license. So if Die Wizard is doing so without being prompted then uses who have not purchased that license would have a very good argument to request use of it until the problem can be solved. In that regard I would take the issue up with your local PLMS support organization because it would seem to have those deeper implications.

Yes, IR's have been filed. We do have the WAVE license and we can unfreeze the components. But it won't "stick". PDW freezes them again and the parts will not update. I have had to edit/update the features manually to work around this problem. This is a very time consuming process.
