We are just about to begin on our first FRP (bell and spigot 20 to 40 BAR)job and numerous people involved have little experience with this product. We do have two third parties to look over things in progress. But there is a specification requirement that both parties seems to disagree on. (Note one side is a representative of the manufacture)
One side claims the taper angle is required to be messuared while the other (manufacture )claims they've never done it before.
My question is this has anybody who has dealt with bell and spigot FRP before measured the taper length on the spigot and bell? and if so how did you do it? (Nether side can come up with a real or agreeable way in which to accomplish this)
Any help would be great

numerous people involved have little experience

Not a start conducive to a smooth job and don't count on third parties, including the manufacturer, as being an effective safety net!

there is a specification requirement

If there is a requirement, follow the requirement. If you are fortunate enough to be using ISO 14692-4 as your specification, sub-clause 5.5.2 states that the pipe end shall be shaved to the manufacturer's recommendations regarding angle, diameter, length and eccentricity. Use of the word 'shall' makes it mandatory; the question then becomes one of verification of achievement of the stated requirement. How that will be achieved without measurement is what you are faced with.

Thanks for the responses.
Now the issue we are having is nobody can seem to agree on a way to measure the taper angle.
We have tried a few tools but a person can make them read whatever they want.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the replies.
Finally manged to find a lil digital gauge (no idea what its called) that can measure our taper angels
