Hello I'm Flickded! I'm new to this forum! :D

Now, I know this isn't a car engine, but I didn't know where else to post this, nor do I know any other forums that I could post this.

I have a 1977 Atlas Copco XAS 60 Dd Air Compressor with a Deutz F2L912 Diesel Engine. I've been trying to get this thing to start for a few days now, replaced all the oil/fuel/battery/etc. I've been having a tough time finding a user manual anywhere. Anyways, I noticed the fuel injectors are clogged. Now my main question is, how do I remove them? That way I can clean/replace them if needed. Any help will be appreciated!

Amazon and Scribd both claim to have the manual.
All you need is money. ;-)

If you happen to have a link to the manual on Amazon or Scribd on hand, that would be very helpful

How do you know the injectors are clogged if you can't remove them? Make sure the fuel shut-off/engine stop is in the running position.

Have you bled the high pressure lines? Any air in them will prevent injection.

Flickded, you dont identify your specific areas of competancy. Are you experienced on diesel engines ?? If so I apologise for the content of this post. How long is it since this engine ran?. The deutz FL series is pretty reliable. Is there water or crap in the fuel filter?? Air in the injector lines has been mentioned.... only a little air will completely prevent the motor firing. There will be a fuel shut off somewhere... probably a lever that is pulled to stop fuel flow to the pump...if this is in the wrong position, you can crank untill the battery is dead. Has it sat long enough that there is mould and algae growth in the fuel tank/ filter/ fuel lines??

If you cant get fuel to spray out from the injector area after you have loosened the supply lines , you have a bad pump or zero flow to the pump.

Additional suggestions, make sure that the outlet on the compressor end is wide open... if the engine is old and tired you dont want the additional load of turning the compressor over while trying to fire up. And I did have to work on an F3L 912 a few years ago that everyone said was a POS, wouldnt run etc etc. Got a vague suggestion that a previous mechanic had set the valve clearances but perhaps didnt know what he was doing. Without a manual I set them, extrapolating what my BMW motorcycle used as clearances. Thing fired right up and purred like a kitten once the valve clearances were more or less OK. From memory the correct clearances are 4 thou and 6 thou.

And there could be something hokey with having a F2L attached to a XAS 60. I believe that is a 130 cfm copmpressor which would need approx 25 HP to run it, and I'm fairly sure the F3L I worked on was rated at 25 HP ( or KW, I can't remember). A F2L sounds small to me.
