Fuel Injector Specs 1

Hello all,

I hope someone here has detailed info and flow rates for a wide variety of fuel injectors. A link to a web site with this info would be just fine. I am trying to make some good decisions on a purchase and this info is all but impossible to find, so far.

A wide variety of fuel injectors may not help you. First you need to know which will fit mechanically into your intended application. Then there is the issue of injector coil impedance. That will narrow the field considerably.

Finding some compatible injectors is the hard part. Only then can you start thinking about flow rates and other factors like spray pattern and opening delay.

If you don't actually know the flow rate of a particular injector, a fair guess can be made by knowing the horsepower per cylinder of the engine from which it came.

But a simple list that says something like Bosch 0-280-150-157 = 230cc/min may not really help you. It may fit your engine, or it may not.

Best place to start is probably more powerful factory engines of your particular type, or car Forums that deal with your particular vehicle. Or tuning houses for your particular engine.

Well yes and no, when you fab all your parts making the injector fit is not all that bad. I did find this great link on another web site

That is a pretty good guide.

Fair enough, most people are just looking for a simple plug in upgrade for an already existing EFI system.

If you are starting completely from scratch, the first thing to know is what are the electrical drive capabilities of your EFI computer ? Find out if it requires high or low impedance injectors.

I would then probably choose something that was used on a popular engine in my part of the world that had a similar (or higher) rated horsepower per cylinder. At least you will then be able to obtain the correct plug and replacement injectors fairly easily.

Check out Tag Electronics and Webber Marelli injectors

The engine I am working on has Tag Injectors with 30 bar pressure same as Formula 1
