Fullerene applications in steel?

Greetings;

Has anyone heard of any uses for carbon fullerenes in steel? A lot of hype over these structures when they were first discovered. Just wondering if any good R&D has been done lately on possible applications in steel. Gerald

Carbon dissolves in molten iron, regardless of its original structure.
 
Actually I heard rumors of fullerene (C60, C70) formation in crucible steel from thermal cycling below melt. Nothing confirmed though.
