Hi,
I have a question with regards the design of gabion baskets and compaction of soil.
I am looking at a problem which involves the retention of soil up to 4m high. My thoughts were to look at a gabion basket solution and my loading would be full hydrostatic loading along with active pressure from the soil.
If i was just to have soil compacted at 150mm layers using a 3 tonne rammer at the soils nature angle of repose, how would I go about on proving this numerically.I have seen such design on various walls but dont understand how to complete such a design?
any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sheram
