I have an existing 1.25" (I.D.) galvanized steel conduit that I would like to run a 0.75" (I.D.) copper line through and I am concerned that there may be some Galvanic Corrosion if the copper line sweats. The copper line is carrying water. Has anyone donethis before and if so have you had a problem with Galvanic Corrosion and/or do you have any reccomendations on protective coatings (tape, insulations, paints) that may be usefull. Or should I just switch to plastic for the service?

Thanks for the help.

dmx, If your water is in the allowable pressure and temperature ranges, use plastic. You'll find its cheaper than copper.

Hope this helps.
