I seem to remember an advisory against connecting galvanized pipe to a concrete riser citing something about zinc reacting with portland cement. At my age the memory can be nearly useless but does anyone have any advice on this?

Bridgebuster forgot to mention that these pipes and rebars are electrically connected to be at same potential and often connected to a cathodic protection system to monitor and prevent their corrosion.

Note: you are referring to a cold service zinc pipe, not hot one?

* Finding a solution is great * Knowing how to implement it is fantastic * Believing it is the only one and best is naive ?

Thank you both. The pipe is a low flow drain in a stormwater management pond to be connected to a riser/outlet structure. Your replies are most helpful.
