Can anyone give me direction to a source on uses of galvanized steel in concrete? I know some work had been done evaluating galvanized rebar vs epoxy coated rebar, but I cannot seem to locate information on those results. Seems to me with the widespread use of epoxy coated bars that something (expense, detrimental to concrete) must have made epoxy the favored protection. I am looking at welded headed studs to be embedded into a precast concrete piece (for connection) and need to protect the exposed portion of the steel. I would use galvanizing (due to no welds) if the embedded portion will not be detrimental to the concrete. Thanks in advance. ~dison
