Hello all!

I work for an OEM that produces large industrial food cooking machines that use natural gas. The size of the gas train is 1.3 MBTU/hr and is built to NFPA 86 standards. We are building one of these machines that is going to Spain to be installed in an industrial setting. Here are some questions and comments:

1) The gas appliance directive 90/396/EEC states that an industrial machine being installed in industrial premises is exempt - does that apply to us?
2) Does the gas train have to be certified by an outside body like a pressure vessel does (TUV) even though we self certify? If so, who does this?
3) I am familiar with the other directives that are applicable - Machinery, Low voltage, E-mag, etc. - I am unsure how to apply the GAD.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eric

My advice...

If you have not gone through CE certification, talk to the people that have and know all the pitfalls/landmines in the way of your success and have copies of all revalent standards your machine must meet.

there is no need for spanish regulations if you do an EC Declaration of Conformity witn Mchinery Directive, so that in technical documentation you justify the gas type and burner characteristics.
If not you must comply with Royal Decree 919/2006 an its Technical Instruction ICG-08
