Hello,
I am interested in how it should be done correctly the N2 purging(suction-discharge piping through compressor) ,to prepare a gas compressor for a minor maintenance intervention,so that the DE/NDE Dry Gas Seals do not be affected by an unwanted flow of contaminants.
There is any requirement that this(N2 purging)to be done ONLY from & through primary seal piping ?

Thank you,

The N2 purge should be injected from 2 places. One from the suction side, another the seal gas supply. Make sure the seal gas supply is higher at all times to prevent seal contamination. You can vent it to any safe area away from people. Monitor the gas content as you purge. Once you see the gas is safe, get the authorized gas tester to validate its safe.

Always involve competent people to be with the job. Work safe.
