Heretofore it has not been possible to gas flush a lidded plastic package (Think lunch box / tamper proof style packages with airtight lids or Tupperware) without using a film seal. I'm working on a project (a machine) that can gas flush a lidded plastic package at speed without using a film seal. The value proposition is that could help facilitate a reuse and refill ambition in the context of extended producer responsibility (EPR) and food packaging. It could also address the dual challenges of reducing food waste through extended shelf life of packaged contents, and has potential to reduce plastic packaging waste, by eliminating the need for plastic film seals in such lidded packs.
Right now, its a solution looking for problems. I'd be keen to engage with anyone who knows of a food packaging problem this approach could solve or suitable use case.
