When a gas transmission pipe is insatlled under the fed rules cfr192 it calls for bed being compacted
should there be a record from a soil enginer to verify that the soil has been comapacte properly?
For the you information i am tlaking about a 575 psi 22 inch cast pipe natural gas transmission line and a concern that a commuity has with a commercail road being put on top of it running parrell with the pipe.

do you know of any problems that could occur due to improper bedding and compaction?

A good report on the importance of bedding and haunch support for pipes was done by CNA Consulting Engineers, Minneapolis MN, MNDOT and pipe suppliers. I recall that soil stiffness was the critical parameter.
