Hi,

I want to know when we open recycle valves of the coupled compressor, the load of gas turbine increase or decrease?

Thank you.

Depends what happens when you open the recycle valves.

Normally you have recycle when your flow drops below a critical level of surge.

SO the power should just freeze at that point as the compressor id doing the same work (same flow at the same differential pressure), only some of the gas is going back to where it starts.

so it neither increases or decreases.

Is that what you mean?

Why?

It's still doing the same flow with the same differential pressure just some of the gas is going round and round through the compressor, assuming the outlet pressure stays the same and some flow is leaving the compressor skid.

In practice your inlet pressure may go up a bit, but if you're opening the recycle because you've hit the surge limit.

But we don't know what the OP is really talking about...

Cause some gas is just going round and round, the compressor is not loaded as much as it would be if the gas was going through it. You don't open recycles when you're loading up, right. And, if you are talking about recycling for surge control, then the compressor is in the process of unloading itself anyway. "A number of conditions can lead to this (surge) phenomenon, but it primarily occurs under conditions in which the compressor is overloaded beyond its ability to move more gas. Essentially, the back pressure of the compressed air that is expelled from the compressor exceeds the compressor's maximum capacity." ... and flow reverses.

Look at the operating point on the compressor map. That will tell you how much work is being done.
