Hello guys,
I have to calculate a bolted joint with two welding neck flanges against high pressure with a particular gasket that I never used.
This gasket has trapezoidal shape and I would like to know if it exists a calculation for this type of gasket.
Code is EN13445 and pressure is 280 barg with Carbon Steel material (heat exchanger)

Could you expand any on what type of gasket it could be? Are the flanges raise faced?

For determining the moment on the flange caused by bolting from the gasket, I would measure from the middle of the narrower part of the gasket.

"trapezoidal shape" means what, exactly?

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Sounds like a Lens gasket. For flange design, treating it as any other metal gasket would be suitable. Since you are working to EN13445 you might find referencing EN1591-1 helpful for the geometry.
