Hi Engineers,

I have a problem with identifying the dissimilar flange materials. I have the two flange connections as shown below:

1. F11 with Carbon Steel Flanges
2. F11 with 316 Stainless Steel Flanges

May I know which of the following below requires the use of insulation kit gasket?

Thank you!

What's the service? Could very well be that neither of the couples need an insulating kit.

In any case, F11 should have a pretty similar potential to carbon steel, wouldn't think you'd want to install an insulating kit between those two.

Hi there, how about the fluid inside is heating medium such as Therminol?

In most petrochem and power generation services, no isolation kits are required for either condition. I have never seen isolation kits used for F11 to carbon steel joints in my 45+ years experience. As per NBrink, service is necessary to fully determine need.
