I am trying to model a chamber in HydroCAD that utilizes a combination of gates and pumps.

The scenario is this:

Gate is open until elevation 100, at elevation 100 gate closes and pump kicks on, at elevation 105 pump turns off and gate opens back up.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated. We did the design in SWMM, but the reviewer is requesting it in HydroCAD. I'm trying to rebuild the model, and I am stuck on this configuration.

Tricky. You're basically modeling three outlet devices. You could try:

Device 1 = Low-head gate modeled as Siphon/Float Valve with the "Break elevation" set to 100

Device 2 = Pump starting at 100

Device 3 = High-head gate modeled as Siphon/Float valve with "Start Elevation" at 105

The problem is there is no option to shut off the pump at 105. We're looking at adding this capability in the next build.

Thanks for the reply, Peter.

I will let you know how we make out.

Couldn't one model the pump as a "Special & User Defined" outlet and manually enter the rating curve which would go to 0 discharge at 105?
