Hi all valve Gurus,

I'm building a 3D catalog for Gate Valves to be used on PDMS.

I do find a lot of manufactures catalogs online but all indicates the max Height of the stem opened.

I'm looking for information on Gate Valve Hand wheel Height. I think this information is specific and different from manufacture to manufacture, since I don't find any standard regarding this.

Does anyone have this information that can share it?

Any manufacture will do just need some reference values.

afcmRamos,
Remember "Close" for 3D is good enough.
Take a good, long look at your Gate Valve picture.

The answer to your question is very simple: "B" minus "D1"
"D1" being the Nominal size of the Valve.

Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results

Thanks all for the repply,

DGrayPPD, I do want rising stem gate valve. Normally valve catalogue manufacturer have the dimensions for the stem rised, and make no reference to the hand wheel tha is fixed.

pennpiper, thanks fot the tip, "B" minus "D1" it will be close enough.

Now a question:
Can I use the (H) value from a Non-Rising Gate Valve, that is the Hand Wheel height, to know the Hand Wheel height on a Rising Gate Valve. (Not the stem)?

The answer is No!
if you really study the pictures of the two types of Gate Valves you will understand why.
The difference is in the design of the Packing Gland and the Handwheel mounting bracket.

A trip to the Field or a Valve Supply House will confirm the issue.

Hand wheel height will vary with manufacturers better to check with manufacturer, most of end user ask height at open condition.
