Is anyone having a problem anchoring GD&T blocks to views? They work ok when you tag it to a dimension, but it doesn't work with text. I tried "Lock View Focus" and it doesn't work for crap. I even tried just selecting the view (highlighted in green)and nothing. I move the view and the GD&T does not move with it. I wish you can transfer items into views after they're created....

This is different than the "Blocks" thread that is posted.

Best,

Macduff

Yes I have the same problem. They only lock to dim's. I have suggested the fix to SW before.

I also have the same problem when using jogged leaders when I indicate them. Maybe this stuff will be fix in 2005.

I'm praying.............

I am going to the 05 rollout July 21. I will ask a lot of questions.

Where are you located at ctopher? I'm thinking about going on that date too. I'm in CA and my VAR is GoEngineer. How about you?

You can do this. Select the note/block/etc. and cut to clipboard. Then go to the view you want, "Lock view focus", and then paste.

This should work for your "Blocks" thread problem also by selecting the sheet and Lock sheet focus.

You may have to hit the arrows at the bottom of the RMB menu to see the lock view focus option. Also, if you have "dynamic drawing view activation" off, the menu may say "Activate view" instead of lock view focus.

I can't help with locking the block to a note though. :(

Fellas,
I found a temporary fix.
Take your GD&T that is already created and select it, RMB,
Proprieties, options and check "always show leaders". Then tag it to a piece of geometry in your desirable view. Now it's locked into that view. Then, RMB, Proprieties, options and un-check "always show leaders". Now the GD&T will move with that view.

macduff, your right, but I think this is good for only SW 2004.
