Gear box - Can't remove bevel gear?? 1

I've been unable to remove the gear and bearing race (remains of a tapered roller bearing) off of this gearbox shaft. From looking at the photo does anyone have a suggestion?

There is no visible keyway in the bevel gear.

try dry ice on the shaft only or heat up the bevel gear with a torch but don't get red hot.
