I'm currently working on contact analysis and crack analysis of 3D spur gears.
I tried several procedures in Abaqus with unsuccessful results. I have problems supplying torque to the gear.
I tried using kinematic constrained couplings (coupled to the inner surface of the hole in the gear), Dynamic/Explicit, Standard and Moment Loads. I always seem to get errors.

I used surface to surface contact and assigned master and slave surfaces to the lateral planes of the teeth of each gear.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or missing?
Any help as soon as possible is appreciated. If you would like, I can upload the .cae file.

Thank you.
