Greetings-
I'm currently using an old program called geargen v1.1 for creating gear geometry. None of the grip files I've used seem to have much control over the form tolerance (dimension over pins and such). Anyone with information about any other files please advise. I was also looking to find out about the "Gear Wizard" mentioned in another post.
Thanks!

Hi John

What ever happened to the gear wizard that was floating around some time ago?

Officially, it's unofficial.

But if you know my email address, I'll provide you the information for enabling it.

It's still 'unofficial' and therefore not supported, and is generally still not available.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

just make the gear yourself. you only need a couple of values and equations and you're good.
otherwise try kisssoft software, it also calculates the strength for the entine gearbox (gears, bearings, axes).

Thanks for the responses!
I enjoyed writing posts and ude's, so I should enjoy writing/modifying something to get exactly what I want. As Loki advised, it's just math & variables. Finding the time is gonna be an adventure!

This is the part I have. Fill in all the "input" in the expressions. IF the root diameter is less than the base diameter you will have to sketch in fillet root diameter in the orignail wireframe. The root radius is left sharp to let the designer modify it to your own needs.
