Hi Everyone,
New user with an assembly problem involving gears. I'm modeling a rotary engine from a set of plans and I cannot get the gears to mesh correctly in the assembly. I've tried allowing Solidworks to do the automatic calculation and I've tried manually adjusting it but I cannot get it perfect (close but after many rotations you notice the overlap). I know that there is a problem with the gears interfering in some spots, but I'd like to figure out how to get them to mesh correctly before adjusting the design. Also, the cam shaft in the center is stationary as the entire motor spins around the crank. I've attached a simplified assembly with the outer gear ring, inner gear and cam.
Any ideas?
Cheers
