I would like to produce composite parts with gel coat and no high gloss finish. Anyone know a way to treat the mold surface or any chemical to apply after demolding. I will prefer not to paint after demolding.
Gratefully.
you can use a mat-finish semi permanent release such as frekote. but the real question is do you really even need gelcoat? if you infuse correctly your part can have a pitfree surface with no gelcoat and also be mat-finsihed from the release. but maybe it needs to be a certain color or have a saniding layer?
you may even be able to buy a mat-fish gelcoat or additive, but no too sure because I have never needed it. You could call some suppliers to get there opinion
Yes I need a gelcoat, not for sanding but for final finishing, after demoulding I only go to polishing a little if extremely necessary.
I already asked to suppliers but no good answer.
I've heard of a product to pass on the gelcoat but nothing concrete.
