Hello,
Has anyone wired a Gemu 1230 (with no LEDs)before? We have a design that is showing both opened and closed limits and is using a 2pr cable. The 24v and 0v are linked in the field and both signals are coming back. These are wired to separate channels on a Siemens 6DL1131-6BL00-0PH1) DI card. Gemu Drawing 101 on the datasheet.

Just to double check this will work as I have never come across it before ?

Yes as long as it is the same 0V on the 6DL1131-6BL00-0PH1 as to the Gemu 1230.

Your are welcome.
Maybe I should have wrote that the 0V has the same potential.
Usually you feed the equipment from the card or with the same aggregat.
As long as the L+ and M on the card, is used for the Gemu 1230 and L+ comes back at the input it will work.
Even another 24 VDC from a different aggregat will work as long as the 0V / earth is connected together for all aggregats but that is not good practice.

Not sure why the part numbers on plints TB3 and TB4 are numbered 23- and 15- instead of CH 14 and CH 22. [ponder]
Or is 23+ and 23- a 24VDC and 0VDC?
One backplane for the card looks like this

Or why the TERM 14 is for CH15 and TERM 23 is for CH22 , I guess it depends on witch backplane you use, there are several.

I guess that TB3 and TB4 is 2 different cabinet /electrical boxes.
Is the reason for not going only to TB3 that there is not any free parts in any cable back to PLC I/O cabinet that you can use, to connect CH 14 through there ?
