Hi all,

I have had a quite number of incidents were the rotor pole A to pole B connector flexible were found cracking progressively due to stop-start operation. I have reaseached quite number of on-line tests and off-line test that can detect this problem. Thus far the stray flux test is the only test is currently performed while the generator is running to check rotor conditions. but am thinking the stray flux test only detects the shorted rotor turn, not accurate when coming to any developing open circuit anywhere on the rotor windings. Any suggestions on what test can i perform to verify rotor condition. The pole flexible is made of copper strands braced together at two ends.

Thanx
