Dear Sirs,

We are working on a Detroit Diesel Allison GenSet with the following dataplate:

Generator Set Model Nº: 8165-7416
Eng S/N: 16VF8164
Gen S/N: 3585369
C/P S/N: 36176

Application: standby
kW: 800 RPM: 1800
Hz: 60 Volt: 480 phases:3
Built M/Y: 9-89

I need to identify the main components and parts of this gen set. It was working with an old Murphy control panel and use a Barber Coleman governor.

Can anyone of you help us? Do you have information about this gen set model? I´ve consult Detroit Diesel but we havent receive any answer yet.

Any help will be appretiated

Best regards,
Luis A. Cristóbal V.

What exactly do you mean by "identify the main components?" I'm assuming you can identify the engine and the alternator. How much detail are you looking for? What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you need to identify the major components? Don't you have a mechanic or technician that services this stuff that can point out the major and minor components for you?

Suggestion: The proper way to go about it is to contact the original genset integrator. A recreation of the integrated genset is not easy since many parameters and variables are involved. Major items are: Generator, Engine, Control Panel, Cranking system (battery or air), Governor, Speed Controller, Automatic Voltage Controller, Exciter, Circuit Breaker, etc. depending on the genset specifications.
