I have an irregular shaped column that has had the top SWEEP cut.
The SWEEP cut was at an angle so the radii across the top constantly changes.
I have been unable to get a chamfer, either by the Chamfer or SWEEP CUT commands.

Are you getting an error message or is it just timing out or crashing or ???.

Have you selected every edge all around? If not, try that first.

Also, it looks like your chamfer is coming all the way to the inner vertical surface--that's likely your reason for failure. I'd consider sweeping a cut around your part instead of using a chamfer like that.

Thanks for getting back.
Let me try to answer both remarks.
1.Yes, I get an error message to the effect that "could not build chamfer due to geometry conditions".
2. I have tried at different times ALL 4 outside edges and at other times ALL 4 inside corners but not all 8 at one time.
3. I need it to come all the way to the inner surface.
4. I tried what I thought was a Sweep. I am not sure it was as it did not work.
5. I have uploaded another picture that may or may not help to clear things up.
Thank you both for helping!

Whoa, that's a strange bump.

You can make a sweep work if you use the innermost edge as your path (create a composite curve or something for a sweep path) and a shape somewhat like the state of Nevada for a profile such that your vertical edge is coincident with your path and your angle downward forms your cut chamfer.

Should work well without the bumps seen in your latest image.
