Dear Abaqus comunity,
I want to use Abaqus to extend an orphan mesh by using the command generateMeshByOffset(...).
Unfortunately the result is quite different from what I expect. I would like a mesh extention what is projected in normal direction based on the source region. But the result is a deviate of one projection direction (see figure).
Does anybody have made experience with the command generateMeshByOffset(...) ?
The Abaqus documentation (Abaqus Scripting Reference Manual 18.2.11) says that the elements are propagate normal to the surface boundary. What does it mean? (Normal to the surface or normal to the boundaries?)
I would like to thank anybody for their help!
regards
