Generating a helix that follows a defined radius

I would like a generate a helix that follows a defined radius. This helix will be used to generate a compression spring using a sweep. I would like an equation that I could modify based on input variables (pitch, length, radius, angle of radius, etc) that would give me (x,y,z) points that I can import into solidworks via excel and generate a composite curve. It seems someone has needed this before, and I do not want a swept tube, I have already done that before. In the future, I think the deform/warp feature on Solidworks 2005 will modify my existing helix.

SWX 2005 now has a 'twist' option for sweeps. Using this, you can specify a number of rotations that the sweep profile will go through while being swept along any path.

This can thus be used to create a FULLY PARAMETRIC helical curve along any path, curved or straight.

I suggest downloading on seperate pc from 2004. Could have conflics if together.

I run SW03, SW04, and SW05 PR1 all on the same PC. You just need to rename the directory to in which you install SW into.

For SW03 I use Solidworks03
For SW04 I use Solidworks04
For SW05 PR1 I use Solidworks05 PR1
