Hello,

I downloaded a solid works file of a propeller from ( try to mesh in Gambit for a cfd project (due to the many sharp angles meshing was proving quite difficult). I initially just imported it into gambit as a parasolid as is and tried different clean up tools, but to no avail. So, now I am trying to obtain just an solid volume version of the prop in solidworks to export. I have tried knitting all the surfaces, but am having issues with the fill option. The make solid option is not available in the insert/boss menu, so I know something's up.

Let me know if anyone has any suggestions,

Thanks

You may need to recreate/simplify some geometry to make it solid. Haven't looked at your model, but try with one blade first, and pattern it. Best bet may be to get one blade solid, pattern as needed, and do a combine with the base at the end.

This model is such poor quality that I would start over from scratch - it isn't even symmetrical.
