Hi Guys,

My buddy has asked me what a typical size genset would be used for lighting a soccer ground. This is an area I have no expertise in so I would like to put it to you. There will be 3 pitchs std size and is lower league so will need to be just good enough for players and spectators not for TV use. Lights will be switched on 10 minutes apart if all pitches are to be used on same night.

If you can shed any light I would be grateful, I dont need this to be too accurate as he is only looking at this for his club as an exercise for the future and he is just looking for a budget on the hire or purchase of a genset.

You'd have to know the lighting load. But not just take service from the utility?

Look at light towers.
Here is a selection (648) of used light towers for sale.
Click on electrical tools and equipment-- lighting (648).
Click on lighting (648)
Most of these will have four - 1000 Watt flood lights that are individually aimed. The working height is about 30 feet.
These Kubota engines are good for over 15,000 hours. I have a set with over 17,000 hours and it is running well. I have been able to start it at minus 20 C.
