Geogrid Spacing on SRW Wall

I designed an SRW using a 6" tall, 12" deep SRW block, and I had 24" geogrid spacing specified for most of the wall (4 units between geogrid layers). What got installed was an 8" tall, 12" deep block, and they kept 4 units between geogrid layers, leading to 32" spacing between geogrid. The only thing working in the contractor's favor is they used a stronger geogrid than was specified.

So, I am trying to cover my bases here before I tell the contractor to tear down the wall for not following the plans. I checked the design using the increased spacing and stronger geogrid, and everything checks out with the exception of the maximum allowed vertical spacing. The maximum vertical spacing allowed by NCMA and AASHTO is 2*unit depth (what is installed is 2.67*Wu). I am wondering if anyone has any experience with what happens when the spacing is increased beyond the 2*Wu?

You'll get more block movement than what's normal. The grid will perform fine but the facing may bulge. You can also talk to the manufacturer to see their experience with this grid spacing. It may stand up fine but look a little ugly over time.
