As a long time user of stackoverflow.com, and more recently serverfault.com and superuser.com, I was pleased to see that this technology has been recently opened up for other communities. As such, I have added a community segment for Geomatics users, at
The idea is pretty simple, in that this is a community driven site dedicated to asking questions and providing answers, in this case relating to Geomatics. Note that unlike forum sites such as this, it is NOT a discussion site. It is there to ask questions that have answers, such that a respository of shared knowledge can be built up among the community. All answers can be voted up or down by members, to get an idea of correctness as considered by the wider community. Membership is free, moderation is minimal, content is effectively public domain.
