Hello All,

What is the definition of "Order by patch/arc in U" and also for direction V?
I am experimenting with the feature in GSD workbench named "Geometric Information".

This is not the order of curve, as "Number of components in U" gives you the order.

Thanks. Scott

Hi,

Number of element gives you the number of subelement like the V4 arc / curve relation.

The Order is the order of the nurbs (sub)element (~ degree of arc in V4)

Eric N,
Thanks for the information. you have confirmed what I was thinking.
As a check to ensure I understand what you are saying.
I create a spline with 6 points, then using the "Geometric Information" function it displays Num of Components = 5.

Therefore number of segments of spline is 5 and order of curve is 6 . . . ?

yes,

you can see that by displaying the control points

Don't have the FREESTYLE license.
Arggh!!

So why state "Order by patch/arc" when this only applies to V4 data?

may be you can read segment instead of arc/patch...

Hi,

Close to the geometric analysis in the Analysis menu, you have the Dress-Up option, you can create segmentation and control points for curves and surfaces, but you can t modify these I think.
