Geometrie effected when exporting to IGES or STEPS?

Hi Guys,

Need to convert an SW part to IGES/STEPS for import in Rhino as a quality check with scanned points from a CMM.
So it is critical that the original SW part geometrie is not effected due to the export.

My question:
is the geometrie effected when exporting? What filetype has the best "trackrecord" for this? I personally have seen some weird behaviour when exporting.

Playing with fire for trying to do quality check on exported files?

Again, thank you all in advance.

Most of the problems I have seen were not a fault of the translation but the quality of the original geometry. When I have a problem with STEP/IGES and I'm able to get the original sldprt it is almost invariably "garbage". You know the saying, "garbage in, garbage out...

I would do some testing with STEP.
