Hi,
I have a simple soil model 3D with C3D8R elements. The soil is undrained saturated overconsolidated clay . It is linear elastic-perfectly plastic. That means properties like poisson's ratio, Young's modulus, friction angle, dilation angle, cohesion yield stress and abs plastic strain have been defined. I am using an associated flow rule for now. During geostatic step, I have applied a body force in upward direction. By editing keywords, I have also applied initial stress conditions in downward direction. The geostatic step works fine in linear elastic model, the deformations are in range of 10^-19 m. However, when Mohr-Coulomb(M-C) plasticity is added, the deformation increases to around 10^-4 m. I am not able to find the solution of this problem. In reality, the M-C properties must be included. Kindly guide. Thanks.
