Hi I'm new to the job and have moved away from Winchester, my home town. The area of work I'm involved in is foundations... i.e. piled, gravity, suction footings, mooring anchorages and pipelines. I'm feeling a little bit out of my depth, so if anyone has any tips or knows of anyone who can kinda take me under their wing a little please let me know :)

Do you not have supervisors, mentors and the like at your work? I would have expected the company would provide you with support.

I'm guessing you are a graduate and I assume you mean Aberdeen Scotland, so you might think about getting involved with the local branches of the institutions. There are a few in Aberdeen, such as the Aberdeen Association of Civil Engineers. Through this you could meet local engineers and get involved, thus meeting new people.
