Hello,

Anyone recommends a reference or references about the geotechnical engineering applied for wind turbines?

It is my understanding that not all the wind turbines foundations are piles. Some have a big concrete block with no pile acting as the base.

Thanks.

They often use a large, shallow foundation to support them and resist the significant overturning moments. It's not all that different from communication towers, power poles, etc.

HTURKAK that was the link I was trying to find.
It's the best reference on the subject that I have seen.
Thanks.

Let's upload it to this thread to be sure we can find it again.

Einstein gave the same test to students every year. When asked why he would do something like that, "Because the answers had changed."
