Geotechnical Testing - ASTM Terminology, Direct Shear

Generally the ASTM geotechnical test standards have a section at the end called "Report: Test Data Sheet(s)/Forms". And they have section in there that says "Record as a minimum the following information/data:" then it lists the specific info. Does "record" mean that it should be included in final test report?

I have a lab that wants to charge me extra for the Shear Stress vs Displacement Plots for a direct shear test. Shouldn't this be included as a standard?

Anything helps, a reference would be awesome.

Charge you extra? Tell them they have to be out of their minds. What were they planning on giving you, just the friction angle?

If they give you a quote that references the ASTM Standard, then yes it should be included in the unit cost for the test.

I'd tell the lab to go pound sand.
